About the Author

Marielle Veve is Interim Cataloging & Metadata Leader at the University of Tennessee Libraries. She is also adjunct faculty at the School of Information Sciences, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Marielle holds a B.A. in Geography from the University of Puerto Rico and an MLIS from Louisiana State University, 2002. Previous to these positions, she served as Cataloging & Metadata Librarian at University of Tennessee, from 2006-2010; and Catalog Librarian for Latin American materials at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, from 2003 to 2006. Currently she teaches and publishes in the areas of multimedia cataloging, authority control, and the integration of non-MARC metadata into the duties of traditional catalogers.
